My Counselling style

Charlie Mack photography
I work with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected and are seeking meaningful change in their lives. Together, we create a supportive space where you can explore the challenges that may be holding you back and move forward on your healing journey with curiosity, self-compassion, and a growth mindset.
I understand that past experiences can shape the way we think, feel, and relate to ourselves and others. Wounds from earlier life experiences often show up as patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, emotional distress, relationship difficulties, or coping strategies that no longer serve us.
My role is to help you explore these patterns with greater awareness while building the inner resources needed to create lasting change. Through our work together, I aim to help you strengthen your confidence, develop emotional resilience, and reconnect with your sense of purpose, meaning, and personal empowerment.
I support adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns. My approach is integrative, drawing from Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. By weaving together these evidence-based approaches, I help clients better understand themselves, regulate their emotions, improve their relationships, and create new possibilities for their lives.
Exploring the Polyvagal Theory together, Helps client's understand the science of how the nervous system responds to stress and safety. Mapping out how your body reacts in moments of overwhelm, whether through fight, flight, freeze, fawn or shutdown responses. Understanding these reactions as natural survival responses rather than personal shortcomings can foster greater self-compassion.
By identifying attachment patterns, we can gain insight into relationship dynamics and begin creating more secure ways of relating to yourself and others.
When emotions feel overwhelming or difficult to manage, I incorporate DBT skills to help you build mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective coping strategies. These practical tools can help you respond to challenges with greater balance, awareness, and choice.Through this integrated approach, many clients experience greater nervous system regulation, increased emotional resilience, and a wider capacity to navigate life's challenges. Clients often develop healthier boundaries, communicate their needs more confidently, and experience greater ease in relationships. As healing unfolds, many discover a deeper sense of trust, self-acceptance, and connection, allowing them to move beyond the impact of past experiences and toward a more empowered, meaningful life
